Question: What if I mess up during my presentation?

1.  Pause and take a deep breath in and out.  This will buy you time to collect your thoughts.  The pause will feel longer to you than it feels to the audience.

2.  Don’t panic.  You can’t get back on track unless you stay calm.

3.  Remind yourself that you know what you are talking about.  You have prepared sufficiently and you can get back on track with ease.

4. Smile and say, “Excuse me.  I seem to have lost my place.”

5.  If close by, take a peek at your notes

6.  Don’t beat yourself up.  It is not a big deal.  The audience will probably not remember your fumble by the end of the presentation.
